Sheaf Throwing (not sheep throwing) just in case any of you mountain runners were wondering!
A Sheaf Throwing competition will take place at the back of Zion Restaurant Saturday afternoon. This competition is traditionally an outlet for farmers to display their agility and strength to all, but in particular to any female onlookers. Showcasing some of the finest and most eligible farmers from local parishes and further afield, this display of manliness and culture is sure to be an entertaining and exciting spectacle.
Sheaf Throwing Attire: Traditional Attire, Work wear, Jeans and check shirts, Polka dot dresses, you name it, anything goes (just remember you might be caught on camera!)
Each entry is given an number of throws. The bar is raised and the thrower that reaches the greatest height is the winner.
Entries are welcome from both males and females with large torsos and strong biceps!
