At 2pm on Sunday October 1st, hundreds of ducks will be launched into the River at Quin Bridge to commence the first ever Festival Duck race on the River Rine.

Each duck is numbered individually and belongs to a member of the community or sponsor. Helpers and waders will be on stand by to keep the ducks moving along in the water for approx 1/4 mile. The race will commence from the Bridge in the centre of the Village and will finish adjacent to the Green in The Park. There will be 4 heats from which the first 10 ducks will be entered in a final. Prizes will be awarded to the first 5 ducks to cross the finish line.

A separate childrens' race will take place and prizes will be given to the winning (5) ducks There are prizes for winners and runners up.

Ducks are available for sale at €5 per duck or 3 for €10.

Please support this worthy cause. Revenues from the Duck Race go towards funding the festival and also supporting the local schools.

Spectators are asked to view the race from the rail separating The Park from the Rine River.

A fun day is expected to be had by all.
